Instructional Materials: Light and Color (DW)
*Special Instructions: Students should observe shadows outside and at different times of the day, noting the differences in shadow length.
MA LS (96 version): Inquiry: Making predictions based on prior experience. Interpret findings

Physical Science: Describe the motion of an object in terms of change and position relative to another object.

Technology: Describe ways in which technological tools and methods allow us to better learn about the laws of nature. Demonstrate the use and care of simple tools.

Physical Sciences: Manipulate a variety of objects in a beam of light in order to explore conditions in which different objects cast shadows bend or transmit light.

MA LS (01 version): K-2 Earth Science: Recognize that the sun supplies heat and light to the earth and is necessary for life. K-2 Physical Science: Sort objects by observable properties such as size, shape, color, weight, and texture.
BPS LS: Light travels in straight lines until it strikes an object. How are shadows formed?
